When I retired from Active Duty in June 2024 and stepped into my new role as an Air Force JROTC Instructor in Atlanta, Georgia, I knew I was entering a season of major transition…personally, professionally, and financially. I poured into my students as a leader, mentor, and example, while quietly trying to figure out what life beyond the uniform would look like.
Through Hiring Our Heroes and FourBlock, I began to rediscover my confidence and direction, and that clarity gave me the courage to take a huge leap of faith: applying for federal positions and ultimately accepting a role as Equal Opportunity Director at Travis AFB in California. That decision meant a cross‑country move (2,519 miles from the South to Sacramento) and the very real challenge of buying a home in a completely new, high‑cost market.
God ordered my steps and used people to open doors. My Sorors of Delta Sigma Theta first connected me to an incredible realtor, Kee Mathews, who immediately became both advocate and guide in this process. Kee didn’t just show me houses; she listened to my story, understood my goals, and made sure every move we made aligned with my vision and my peace. Recognizing how important the right lending partner would be, Kee then introduced me to Joe and Kasha Green at Green Mortgage Solutions, and that introduction changed everything.
From my very first interaction with Joe and Kasha, I felt seen, heard, and respected; not just as a buyer, but as a whole person with a unique journey, a family, and a calling. They took the time to understand my background as a retired service member and new federal employee and helped me navigate all of my loan options in a way that was clear and empowering. Together with Kee, they formed a unified team that kept my best interest at the center of every decision.
Joe was proactive and strategic in structuring my loan so I could secure a competitive rate in a challenging market. He anticipated potential issues before they surfaced, clearly explained each step, and never made me feel rushed or overwhelmed. Kasha matched that same level of professionalism and warmth, bringing meticulous attention to detail and steady reassurance whenever the process felt intense. With Kee guiding the home search and negotiations, and Joe and Kasha handling the financing, I always felt covered on all sides.
What could have been a stressful, confusing cross‑country homebuying journey instead became a testimony of alignment, teamwork, and grace. This trio communicated consistently, responded quickly to every question, and worked together so seamlessly that I always felt supported, informed, and confident in the path we were on.
Because of Kee’s dedication as my realtor and Joe and Kasha’s expertise as my lending team, I closed on a home that truly feels like a dream…one I never imagined I’d own in California, and certainly not this soon. They didn’t just help me purchase a house; they helped me step into a new chapter of my life with faith, love, and trust as the foundation.
If you’re relocating, buying from out of state, a veteran, a federal employee, or simply someone who wants a team that operates with excellence, integrity, and heart, I wholeheartedly recommend Realtor Kee Mathews and Joe & Kasha Green of Green Mortgage Solutions. Their partnership turned a major life transition into a blessing that I will never forget.
Thank you, Kee, Joe, and Kasha, for being such a powerful part of my journey and for helping me secure the best loan and rate for my new dream home in Sacramento. California still feels surreal; but because of you all, it also feels like home.
